I, Austen, along with my beautiful wife Brittnie, have been married for 11 years and are proud parents to our two sons, Camden and Logan, as well as our daughter Isabelle. Our commitment to serving our church and community is a central part of our family identity, and we strive to give back to the Spotsylvania area, the community that has played a significant role in shaping us.

The History of Virginia Specialties Inc.

Virginia Specialties was founded in 1986 by Lloyd Bohn. At 22 years old, Lloyd set out to create a life for him and his family. Originally Virginia Specialties started out as a commercial, mechanical and steel fabricating company. After a few years, Lloyd realized a need for honest and quality general contractors in the area that not only produced quality work but treated both customer and employees with respect and integrity. As Lloyd continued to grow his business, he grew his family as well. Having two sons of his own and three stepchildren, Lloyd gave them opportunity as they grew up teaching them the trades. After graduating high school his oldest son Austen went from working weekends and in the summertime to a full-time employee. After years of working alongside his father learning all aspects of the business, Austen became co-owner of Virginia Specialties in 2012. At a young age Austen saw the potential of what Virginia Specialties could be. In 2015, Austen began taking the company nationwide performing remodeling projects for medical facilities from Maine to Puerto Rico. After 4 years of traveling the country and Lloyd retiring, Austen decided to switch directions and open a residential division specializing in interior and exterior remodeling. Today Virginia Specialties performs various commercial and residential remodeling projects throughout Virginia. Though Virginia Specialties looks very different from when it first started, we still hold its founding values of giving high quality work for a fair price and treating others with the kindness and respect they deserve.
